Once-off chance to see Rocco show

ROCCO DE VILLIERS

ROCCO DE VILLIERS

RENOWNED pianist, producer, television personality and cocktail connoisseur, Rocco de Villiers will be performing a once-off show next weekend.

He promises to take his East London crowd on a journey to a place of musical magic and wonder.

His latest hit-album, Beautiful, Beautiful Piano, created a frenzy when it reached gold status only weeks after its release. It contains smash hits like My Heart Will Go On, Don’t Cry for me Argentina and You Raise Me Up.
East Londoners now have the rare chance to find out first-hand why more than 30000 copies of the album have already been sold when De Villiers brings Beautiful, Beautiful Piano to The Boeretroosteater on Saturday February 9 at 8pm.

Apart from his brilliant piano playing, this eloquent virtuoso will be sharing his experiences, since childhood in the Free State, through events that moved him to record these specific tunes. He said the album is dedicated to fond memories of his mother who died a couple of years ago. “Many of the tracks on the CD were her favourites”.

De Villiers, who recently finished the soundtrack to an American film called Brewsie & Willie, an adaptation of a Gertrude Stein Novel, released his first solo CD, Screentest, in 1997, and has since released seven more instrumental albums. He has also written two cocktail recipe books.

  • Tickets (R100) for his Beautiful, Beautiful Piano show are selling fast. Food, snacks and cash bar will be available. No picnic baskets or own bar allowed. Book by contacting 072-225-7120.
