Idol boppers

Letitia van Loggerenberg and Lindsay Smeeton joined hundreds of adoring fans to welcome South Africa's pop idol Heinz Winckler during his visit to East London's Vincent Park shopping centre yesterday afternoon.

After winning the M-Net pop idols competition earlier this year, Heinz has had a hectic schedule touring and promoting his newCD.

More than 600 fans jostled for space in an attempt to get their idol's autograph on their CD covers and clothes.

"His visit offered some nice entertainment for shoppers and fans," said Vincent Park marketing manager Shona Lawson.
