Motsepe expelled from Nafcoc

JOHANNESBURG -- The fight between Simon Mathysen and Patrice Motsepe for the control of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc) took a new turn at the weekend when Mathysen's supporters announced the expulsion of Motsepe and his allies from the black business organisation.

At a press conference here following a Nafcoc federal council's meeting, spokesman Beef Molefe said the council resolved that the members should be expelled.

Motsepe was elected leader by a Nafcoc group opposed to Mathysen's overtures to the mostly white SA Chamber of Business for a merger of the two organisations.

They accused Mathysen of violating Nafcoc's constitution.

Molefe said the Motsepe group were expelled as they failed to follow proper Nafcoc channels to voice their grievances. -- Sapa
