Ncamashe to be reinstated

BISHO -- The Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders (HTL) was ordered by the high court here yesterday to re-instate Prince Zolile Burns-Ncamashe and pay all his remuneration as from the date of the termination of his membership.

High Court Judge President Bobbie Pickard said the HTL failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt it had powers to terminate Burns-Ncamashe's membership.

Judge Pickard also dismissed the resolution taken by the HTL instructing the Rharhabe regional authority to revoke nominations of Ncamashe and to nominate another member after consultation with the AmaNtinde traditional community.

He also ordered the HTL to pay costs.

Ncamashe was ousted from the HTL in April this year following an HTL tribunal report in March. -- DDC
