Boy abducted in city centre By Mphumzi Zuzile Crime Reporter EAST LONDON -- A four-year-old Quigney boy was missing here last night after he was abducted by a man in the city centre on Monday afternoon, police said. Captain Shannon Kirkhoff said the child, Major Mali, was walking home with his 11-year-old sister from the Penguins Pre-Primary School in Oxford Street. They were approached by an unknown man, who told them he had been sent by their grandmother, Deborah Mali, to fetch Major. When the girl, whose name is being withheld at her family's request, arrived at her Quigney home, it was established that Major had been kidnapped as Mrs Mali had not sent anyone to get him. Kirkhoff said the boy had not been seen or heard of since. At the time of his abduction, Major was wearing khaki shorts with green stripes, a khaki shirt with green stripes on the sleeves, a red jersey and white takkies. According to police, the suspect is aged between 25 and 30, of slender build with a dark complexion. He was wearing black pants and a white shirt and had a cellphone and a bunch of keys. Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts should contact Sergeant Thembelani Yalezo of the indecent crime unit on 083-279-0765 or 10111.
