Residents endure leaky sewage stink EAST LONDON -- Some Beacon Bay residents are reeling from the big stink permeating the neighbourhood after sewage started bubbling up from a manhole. According to local residents, the sewage has been a regular feature in the area for the last couple of years and is exacerbated by heavy rains. The sewage is seeping out of a drain next to the Engen garage at the corner of Beaconhurst Drive and Hillcrest Drive. It is also flowing out of the ground on the other side of Beaconhurst Drive next to Mr Warren Brown's property. Brown says he has phoned the municipality repeatedly over the last two years to complain about the problem but nothing has been done to clean up the mess. -- DDR Stocks & Stats Editorial Entertainment Features Television & Radio Sport Weather Tides Aircraft |
