Dalian cracks 122

EAST LONDON -- Dale pulled off a 110-run win over Cambridge in an inter-schools' cricket match on Saturday with the highlight the fine 122 scored by Dale's Shane Frederichs.

In the other matches Hudson Park beat Port Rex by six wickets and Selborne beat Stirling by 74 runs.

Scorecards:

Dale 247/6 (Frederichs 122, Twum-Ampofu 33; Matomela 2/56). Cambridge 137/8 (Matomela 49; Zondeke 4/25, Mbada 4/31). Dale won by 110 runs.

Port Rex 115 (Hackart 35 no; Bauer 4/13, Dearlove 3/19). Hudson Park 116/4 (Cana 36, Kretzmann 30 no Myburgh 2/39). Hudson Park won by six wickets.

Selborne 186/4 (Randall 54, Bennett 44, Cloete 30). Stirling 112 (Gower 30; Rossouw 3/14, Postman 2/6). Selborne won by 74 runs.

* Most second league inter-schools mid-week matches were not played last week because of wet pitches.

However, Cambridge had a memorable five-wicket win over Selborne in a 40-over match, bowling Selborne out for 175 in 37 overs and then achieving 176/5 in the last over for the win.

Hudson Park played Breidbach and pulled off a 66-run win with the highlight the 93 (four sixes and 12 fours) scored by Warwick Hinkel.

Baysville won two out of two matches beating Grens II by six wickets and Hudson Park IV by six wickets.
