Swedes seek HIV Iranian

STOCKHOLM -- A man infected with the Aids-causing HIV-virus, who is being hunted on suspicion of having unprotected sex with dozens of Swedish women, is Iranian and not American, it was reported here yesterday.

Interpol has informed Swedish police that the real name of the suspect is Mehdi Tayeb, who was born in 1953 in Iran and gained his US passport by deception.

Since his photograph was published here by police, 80 women have come forward to say they had had unprotected sex with him.

The number is expected to grow.
