Reagan honoured WASHINGTON -- President Clinton yesterday signed a bill changing the name of Washington National Airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as the former Republican president celebrated his 87th birthday. The Republican-led Congress rushed through the bill earlier this week. Although Mr Clinton did not expressly push for the measure, his aides said that he would sign it once it reached his desk. ''As the nation celebrates President Reagan's 87th birthday, we wish him and his family well. He is in our thoughts and prayers,'' Mr Clinton said in a written statement. -- Sapa-AP |
